Timeline History of GMP Plating
1999-2000
GMP Plating was established 1999. In 2000, zinc production launched with a semi-automatic line.
2003-2005
In 2003, GMP was initially certified for ISO 9001. In 2005, Anodize Type 2 & 3, chemical film, and passivate production began with a semi-automatic line.
2008-2010
In 2008, GMP went GREEN by installing solar panels and by using friendlier environmental chemicals. In 2010, the project for creation of the fully automatic zinc line began.
2016-2019
In 2016, we finished the full automation of our zinc line and in late 2016, we began the process and planning of the expansion of GMP into Mexico with the creation of GMP Guadalajara.
2021-2024
In 2021, we began planning to fully automate the Anodize line in Morgan Hill, CA. In 2024, we finalized the full automation of GMP Morgan Hill, CA.

Founded in 1999, GMP Plating, Inc. has grown from its roots in Silicon Valley to become a leader in the metal surface finishing industry, serving major vertical markets such as Medical and Communication Server Systems.
With a 30,000-square-foot, fully automated facility in Morgan Hill, California, equipped with advanced hoist systems and a patented computerized plating monitoring system, we deliver high-quality aluminum anodizing (Type I, II, and III), zinc plating, chemical film (Alodine), and passivation services that meet the strictest industry tolerances. Our state-of-the-art laboratory and rigorous salt spray testing ensure consistent, durable results for large enterprise orders and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
To support our global partners in the Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) supply chain, we expanded with a facility in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico (GMP Plating GDL), offering the same exceptional quality and on-time delivery for just-in-time (JIT) manufacturers. Located at 740 Jarvis Dr., Morgan Hill, CA 95037, and Primera Privada de los Laureles #200, Colonia Alameda, Tlajomulco de Zuniga, Jalisco, C.P. 45679, our facilities are designed for traceability and efficiency, handling complex projects with precision.
